How can I live a happier, more independent and fulfilling life?
I’ve been dating someone for 3+ years. We live together have talked of buying our first house, marriage, kids etc. I am starting to lose my identity though. I feel like I wait around to make sure he is comfortable, happy and doesnt need anything before I do ANYTHING for myself. and sometimes I still wont do things for myself because I want to spend more time with him. I have lost contact with lots of good friends, and my life seems to consist of work, sleep, eating, cleaning the house, and taking care of the animals and my man. He has his own life, friends, hobbies, other interests but I just can’t seem to do the same. I have become depressed, stressed, and I feel almost defeated. I need some help on how to make my life more exciting. what did you do? did it help your marriage/relationship, were you happier? I like to paint, hike, swim, do yoga, kayak, cook, write poetry, play with my dog, run, etc. and I work night shifts.
Before me and my husband got married and before we had a daughter (who is the most wonderful thing in our life’s), we had ben dating for 4 years, and I had felt the same way (I was a Doctor then too), so I took up painting. A certain type of painting that helped me was standing far away, getting paint on my finger tips, and throwing it at the easel. I hope this helps!
