poetry topics for kids
Can you help me write a poem?

I’m taking a class about poetry, and we are supposed to right a rhyming poem that would appeal to younger kids. The poem topic i picked was shoes. I’m having a lott of trouble coming up with a poem. Could you help me? We are supposed to include personification. It’s also supposed to be 4 verses of 4 lines each

My favorite pair of shoes are writing to be worn
The seams, thesoulss, thetonguee, all torn
The blueberry color is all fade out
The shoes are as comfortable as cotton, just about

I got them in a box at a store, all brand new
The years I thought they would last were only a few.
could you revise this one or make a new one?? please??thanksx

You’ve got a good start here.

Including more personification will enhance the poem and make it more effective (both in terms of satisfying your assignment and communicating your ideas).

I’m assuming you mean the shoes are “waiting” to be worn, so there’s personification at work. What else can the shoes do?

Contemplate their fate?
Anxiously await a date?
Sink into despair after they see you’ve bought a new pair?

Get creative with it and see what other “personable” traits you can add.
