Which type of poetry do you like, structured or free-verse?

Personally, I think free-verse is more concertrated in emotion and meaning, rather than structured poetry, which subdues the emotion because you focus more in getting the rhyme and meter right, than the meaning itself. However, I do like structured poetry when it’s natural relating to meter and rhyme, and is still quite strong in meaning and emotion.

So which one do you prefer, structured or free-verse? Are you open minded or close minded when it comes to poetry, casting away any poetry that doesn’t rhyme, or hating rhyming poetry no matter how well written it is?

I disagree with your basic premise of what are the strengths of either. And each poem is different and, for me at least, the poem dictates which form it will take.
