Is this computer compatible with me?
I am thinking about buying this computer:

I want to load a lot of music, pictures, and possible videos onto it. I am working my way into photography, and I am starting to edit pictures more and more, and later on I will be editing videos and creating small films.
My real question is if I should go with this computer- a dual core- or should I shoot for the computer that’s a step above it with a quad-core processor? I *will* be using photoshop, video editing software, and an assortment of other programs.

The two computers are virtually the same, apart from the difference in processors.

A custom built computer will be much better for you. It can be designed to suit your purpose precisely. However, Intel Quad core is much better than AMD. You get more out of Intel than AMD. A 64-bit Windows Vista and 4 gb of RAM should do the job for you. If it is affordable, get one made for you but get a Intel Quad core with DDR3 RAM and board. Just choose a decent case to put it all in, but make sure it is well ventilated to provide adequate cooling.
This set up is uncrashable. It is very overclock friendly too. No lack of performance at all. Very good for multi tasking.
