i love taking pictures of people.
not necessarily when their standing or posing, but just when their not suspecting it.
it captures the actual reality.
just wondering, [im only 16] is it illegal to just take a picture of a random person?
say im in downtown portland or seattle; could i just take a picture of someone while they didnt know it?
its not illegal to take the picture if your in a public place, it is illegal to sell or market the image without a model release***
***if its a pic of a crowd of people your fairly safe, if its a shot of someone isolated and you want to sell the image to say Coke they wont take it without a release
its a very good question and difficult to answer straight up as there are many varibles – such as editorial images dont need releases, shots for Gucci wil always be made with pro models and releases……..
