What is a great, but inexpensive camera for photography?
I want a digital.
600 dollars or under.
easy to use.
I enjoy taking close up pictures of plants, animals…etc.

I already have a canon powershot.
i kinda want a Digital SLR.
A Nikon D40 with a basic 18-55mm lens is a good start. Then add a set of close up filters for close up photos of plants, flowers, etc.
For example, Tiffen makes a set of close-up filters in the 52mm filter size for the 18-55mm which sell for about $35.00 from adorama.com.
That should keep you under $600, as the camera with lens is about $500.
