The best route for a photography career?
Ok so what is like one of the best places to go for photography?
Or should i just do online classes?
Or just get a major in Art and work form there?
The most helpful thing to have in the art world is contacts!
So, no don’t do online classes. You need to learn hands on and meet important people.
SVA in NYC & Art Center in LA would be the schools I recommend. You need to be in a city that has art as a focus.
Therefore, don’t go to SCAD because it’s in the middle of nowhere and you’ll just be another number. Also, don’t go to Art Institute of Boston because it’s a horrible school that treats art students like therapy patients, forcing them to drown in horrible memories and make art about it.
Try taking classes close to you first and see if it’s really what you want to do 24/7 for the rest of your life. I would suggest getting a stable back up plan in case, especially in this economy. Very few artists & photographers make a high income, primarily because most of them are free lance.
Good luck with your photo future & hope that helps.
